What was the highlight of Comfort Hotel Bergen

Great for fjord tours

It’s about 15 min walk from the central station (and no, it’s not all brick) but extremely close to terminals for various fjord tours that leave bergen, we did two of them and it was optimal. Extreme high value for the money. Room had all we needed and was clean. Space was enough. Breakfast was good, consistent with other comfort hotels. Staff was helpful. Ability to store luggage in locked room for the day.

The toilet in the room was uncomfortable, and consistent with other comfort hotels you only get one small pillow per person which is not enough.

Great breakfast and close to all things Bergen!

Very close and walking distance to the marina and central Bergen. I liked that it was a little walk out of town to avoid crowds (particularly as there was cruise liners visiting!). Obsessed with the breakfast buffet.

Room was a little dark but hey- it's Scandinavian winter! What would be great maybe in the future is having chromecast TV's where you can log into your own streaming accounts as I was restricted to just SkyTV! But that was just the cold rainy days when I wanted to stay in!

Comfortable stay in good location

Amazing breakfast buffet! Great location within easy walking distance of the main scenic areas.

Nothing. (A kettle in the room would have been nice though to make tea :)

Location is excellent, food was good. Very comfortable it’s not a 6 star hotel for a king but excellent for ordinary people like us. We would stay there again

Good stay before boarding fjord ships - close to the port

I loved the position of this hotel, the window view and the variety of the breakfast. The staff helped us getting information for our boat departure and called us a cab to get there on time.

I didn't appreciate the communication we had before arrival here on Booking, the way I was responded was very rude and also made me think of changing accomodation but the position was excellent for our needs. The room was definitely too small. I didn't like the self check-in and the overall disinterest of the staff.

Overall a good hotel, would stay again but would choose the room.

Overall the hotel was great - location spot on, staff brilliant, great facilities, lovely breakfast, very clean.

I stayed here twice and the second room wasn’t great. A window with a blind that only covered half the room window. For a hotel in a location which doesn’t get dark this was not good for a decent nights sleep. No idea why it would be designed like this. The staff gave me a towel so I could try and cover it but still wasn’t great. Room 601 - avoid. (My first room at the start of my trip was great!)

Very small room but otherwise a good option

Staff are friendly, breakfast was good and could get before 6.30am when I had a really early train to catch. Location is convenient to centre

Room was exceedingly small, there was a window but blind only came part way down, as sun rise is 3.30am the room was immediately in daylight. Why can't there be a blind or curtain to cover the window. Room was too small to have any furnishings, where to put things?

Great breakfast spread and well located. Basic but clean, comfortable and spacious room and good shower pressure

We did miss having a kettle in the room (even though we knew when we booked there was no kettle available in the room). Wifi was also pretty spotty

Overall the hotel and Bergen was a memorable experience. It was all we had hoped for.

Breakfast offerings were excellent! Staff were very helping.

We didn't like the room we were given for half our stay. 2 nights. We request a change, it was granted. Thank you staff.

Clean, comfortable, convenient no frills lodging with excellent breakfast.

Very conveniently located. Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast! Nice common areas to relax with friends traveling with us. Appreciate attention to environmental concerns.

Room was pretty basic without a lot of frills but that was ok. So not really a “dislike” but just an observation to set others’ expectations.

Excellent Central Bergen Hotel

Location is great. Central to everything. Really quiet though so slept well. Beds were so comfy. Room was clean. Shower was hot. No complaints. I booked not realising there was no bath but that's my mistake and the shower was decent so it's fine. Breakfast was lovely. I had fresh bread with butter and ham, fresh warm croissants and jam. My husband had scrambled eggs, beans and meatballs. We had a few drinks in the evening which was nice. I saw people playing darts and table tennis. We didn't use the gym but it has all you could need and is open all the time. Felt really safe here actually and every day we discovered something new about Bergen as its location was ideal for the fjord trips, the flo banen, the aquarium and lots of bars and restaurants. We will be back and I would happily book the same hotel again!

Just no bath in the bathrooms that's all but just a preference. I messaged just after I booked and they confirmed this but it wouldn't put me off booking again. They never claimed to have baths, just something I should have checked before!

Pleasant and convenient

I particularly liked the location. The hotel is set in a quiet but central location within easy reach of the harbour. There are many restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. I thought the breakfast was excellent. The hotel catered for different nationalities and dietary needs. Staff were always ready to help at the reception desk and the hotel appeared clean and well maintained at all times. I liked the fact there was a longue area downstairs where reading materials on the local area were provided.

Blinds in the room and tea and coffee making facilities.
